Installing Oil Pan

Information 

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.

Information 

If the oil pan seal has to be replaced or a newer type of oil pan without a moulded seal is installed, please note the following:

Apply sealant to oil pan

  1. Clean and de-grease sealing surfaces on the oil pan and oil guide housing.
    1. 1.1 Check oil pan seal and replace if damaged.
  2. Position oil pan and screw in screws by hand. Align and tighten oil pan.
