Preliminary Work

  1. Remove the engine.

    > 100119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE

  2. Remove transmission from engine.
  3. Secure engine on assembly support.

    > 1001IN SECURING ENGINE ON ASSEMBLY SUPPORT (MOUNTING BRACKET)

  4. Drain engine oil. For details, see > 170117 DRAINING AND FILLING ENGINE OIL (CHANGING ENGINE OIL)
  5. Disassemble the engine. Cylinder heads are removed, but must remain intact. The starter, knock sensors, thermostat housing and coolant guide remain fitted on the crankcase. For details, see > 1001Z1 DISASSEMBLING ENGINE
