Removing Lock Carrier
Information
- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.
- Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well.
- These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown for the front and rear.
- Pull air intake pipe (two on the V8) and sound absorber forward out of the lock carrier.
To facilitate removal, first pull out the sound absorber and then pull the air intake pipe out of the air cleaner housing by turning it.
- Unscrew fastening screw -1- and remove the lock support in an upward direction.
- Loosen the lock carrier.
- 3.1. Unscrew fastening screws -2- for the bumper.
- 3.2. Unscrew fastening screw -3- for the radiator at the top.
- 3.3. Unscrew fastening screw -4- for the body.
- Press the actuating cable -5- for the lid lock at the bottom back through the lock carrier.
- Disconnect electric plug connections.
- 5.1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -6- for the wire harness on the left side.
- 5.2. Unclip electric plug connections (if additional equipment is fitted) -7- on the left side from the bracket and release and disconnect them.
- 5.3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -8- on the right side.
- 5.4. Unclip temperature sensor from the air guide.
- Remove lock carrier.
