Installing Powered Sunroof Mechanism

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.
Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well.

Clean the frame if you intend to use it again.
1. 1.1. Remove sealing material and clean sealing surfaces.
2. 1.2. Clean the guides -1, 2, 3, 4- .

Grease the frame and powered sunroof mechanism.
1. 2.1. Grease the guides -1, 2, 3, 4- with → GREASE.
2. 2.2. Grease sliding pieces on the powered sunroof mechanism with → GREASE.
3. 2.3. Grease sliding track on the front and rear powered sunroof mechanism -5- with → GREASE.

Carefully guide the drive cable into the frame without kinking it.
Guide the powered sunroof mechanism into the frame.
Clip in water drain strip -3- (-A- ) and slide in the guide -B- .

Position the powered sunroof mechanism.
1. 6.1. Slide the powered sunroof mechanism forward as far as it will go.
2. 6.2. Push the slide for the powered sunroof mechanism -6- forward until the guide screw -7- is over the marking -8- .
  The front edge of the slide -6- must also be between the two notches.
3. 6.3. Set the same position on both sides.

Install end pieces.
1. 7.1. Apply sealing compound -9- → SEALING COMPOUND to the new end pieces.

2. 7.2. Fit the end pieces at the outside first and then clip them in -1- .

3. 7.3. Press the end pieces gently onto the frame and remove any excess sealing compound.
