Installing Oil Separator

Information 

The seals on the oil separator must always be replaced following removal.

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

> WM 1001IN TIGHTENING TORQUES, TIGHTENING SEQUENCES, ASSEMBLY OVERVIEWS FOR ENGINE (CAYENNE S, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S)

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electric, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found 1 in the corresponding documents.

1. Place oil separator -3-  evenly and carefully onto the valve cover -5-  using both hands. Press connection piece of oil separator into the bore on the valve cover.

2. Replace seals -6-  .
3. Fit and tighten four fastening screws -4-  on the oil separator -3-  .

4. Fit line connections -1 and 2-  to the connection piece on the oil separator -3-  . Check sealing rings on lines and replace if necessary.

5. If screw elements are damaged, tap them out of the oil separator and tap in new elements using a plastic hammer.
