Reworking Drive Mechanism

Detach the fabric lining at the front and fold it aside. → Removing Fabric Lining
Clean and grease the guide rails and gate guide at the sides.
1. 2.1. Clean the guide rails -1- and gate guide -2- at the left and right.
2. 2.2. Lubricate guide rails -1- and gate guide -2- at the left and right with FIN Super .

Clean and grease the side holders.
1. 3.1. Clean the side holders -1, 2- at the left and right.
2. 3.2. Clean the side holders -1, 2- at the left and right and lubricate them with FIN Super .

If the mounting plates of the mounts are not braced properly against each other, the panel for the sliding roof may not function correctly. If they are not braced adequately, rattling noises can occur while driving. If they are braced too tightly, the sliding roof panel can be stiff and difficult to open and close.
Check and adjust the preload.
1. 4.1. The mounting plates for the holders at the left -1- and right -2- must be braced against each other. To do this, starting at the front and rear right, insert a wide screwdriver between the mounting plates for the holders and the frame -3- (-arrow- ) and check the preload.
  Position parallel -dimension X- with the roof assembly.

2. 4.2. If the preload is not correct, loosen the fastening screw on the mounting plates for the holders and adjust outwards by pressing the screwdriver.
  Then tighten the fastening screws. → Tightening torque: 7.5 Nm (5.5 ftlb.)
Check the end rubber stops in the gate links and replace them if they are worn.
1. 5.1. Pull end rubber stops -1- out of the gate links -2- at the left and right using a screwdriver -arrow- .

2. 5.2. Press new end rubber stops -1- into the gate links -2- on the left and right -arrow- .
