Removing Engine Mounting

  • Risk of squashing or crushing

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

  1. Remove air cleaner housing.

    → 242519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR CLEANER HOUSING .

  2. Support engine in installation position using floor jack H 2 SL WE 1032  and transmission jack plate of transmission jack VAG 1383 A WE 1082  at the oil pan.
  3. Loosen collar nut M12 (internal Torx screw, screw insert T55) -1-  at the engine carrier and unscrew it.

  4. Unscrew two hexagon-head bolts (M x 60 at engine mounting (item 1 or 2).

  5. Guide engine mounting -1-  upwards out of the engine carrier.

  6. Check mounting carefully for damage (dents, cracks at metal insert, threaded bolt) or leaks (emerging hydraulic fluid).
    1. 6.1. Replace component if in doubt.
