Installing Engine Carrier

  1. Insert engine carrier into threaded bolt and position using two M10 collar nuts.
    1. 1.1. Position M10 x 80 outer Torx screw and screw in as far as it will go.
    WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
    • Risk of squashing or crushing

    → Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

  2. Raise engine to its installation position using the transmission jack.
    1. 2.1. Position two M12 special nuts (inner Torx, screw insert T55) -1-  at the engine mounting (hydraulic mount) on the left and right.

    2. 2.2. Position spacer sleeve -2-  for special screw -1-  in engine compartment.

    3. 2.3. Insert special screw through bore in rear-lid rack and tighten it.

      → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb.)

  3. Tighten two M10 collar nuts and M10 x 80 outer Torx screw. → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb.)  ; → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb.) 
  4. Tighten M12 special nuts on the left and right engine mountings. → Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ft. lb.)
