WM 101801 Checking For Loss Of Pressure (Except Turbo Coupe, Turbo S Coupe, Turbo CABRIO, Turbo S CABRIO, Gt2 & Gt3): Information: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- The engine must be at operating temperature for carrying out the pressure loss test.
Information
- In the case of new engines that have not yet been fully run in (less than 5, 000 km), there may be higher pressure losses than after the run-in period as cylinders, pistons and piston rings have not yet attained their final dimensional stability.
- Differences between the individual cylinders of up to two graduation lines = 4 % pressure loss are not significant.
