Installing Clutch

  1. Insert the centring mandrel 3176  with the drive plate into the guide joint (needle sleeve).

    Information 

    • Clean the friction surfaces of the flywheel and clutch pressure plate prior to installation with brake cleaner or solvent naphtha. 
    • Surfaces of friction linings must be free from contamination, especially oil and grease. 

    Information 

    To avoid deforming the clutch pressure plate, tighten fastening screws in at least 5 steps and in diametrically opposite sequence. Always replace fastening screws.

  2. Install pressure plate.

    Clutch pressure plate   Initial tightening 15 Nm (11 ftlb.)

  3. Remove centring mandrel for toothed segment 9538/1.
