Removing Oil Separator

Information 

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

  1. Remove positive crankcase ventilation line.
    1. 1.1. Release rapid-action coupling on positive crankcase ventilation line and pull it off at the cylinder head -arrow-  .
    2. 1.2. Check O-ring on rapid-action coupling and replace it if necessary.
    3. 1.3. Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 20) -1-  at the connecting flange of the positive crankcase ventilation line.
    4. 1.4. Pull connecting flange out of the oil bracket. Replace O-rings.
    5. 1.5. Close off openings with stoppers or mask the openings.

  2. Release and pull off cable plug for coolant temperature sensor.
  3. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) -3-  on the oil separator -1-  .
    1. 3.1. Pull off positive crankcase ventilation line -2-  on the oil separator.

  4. Remove oil separator.
    1. 4.1. Carefully press positive crankcase ventilation line aside and out of the work area.
    2. 4.2. Pull oil separator -1-  up out of the oil bracket and remove it by pulling it towards the passenger compartment.
    3. 4.3. Clean connection points and seal with stoppers.
    4. 4.4. Replace O-rings.
