Installing Oil Separator: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2012 Porsche Cayman, 2012 Porsche Boxster, 2011 Porsche Cayman, 2011 Porsche Boxster, and 2010 Porsche Cayman. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Information 

  1. Remove all stoppers from the connection points.
    1. 1.1. Grease new O-rings.
  2. Guide in oil separator -1-  from inside the passenger compartment and fit it into the oil bracket.

  3. Fit and tighten two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) -3-  .

    1. 3.1. → Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 
    2. 3.2. Connect positive crankcase ventilation line -2-  to the oil separator (locking sound).
    3. 3.3. Pull to check that the line is secure.
  4. Connect cable plug for coolant temperature sensor.
  5. Press flange of positive crankcase ventilation line into the bracket with new O-rings.
    1. 5.1. Fit and tighten external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 20) -1-  .

      Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 

    2. 5.2. Connect positive crankcase ventilation line to the cylinder head -arrow-  .
