Engine Carrier For Engines M97.20/M97.21 (Cannot Be Retrofitted For Older Models)

- "Through bolt" (internal Torx countersunk screw) M6 x 110, oil pump threaded joint

Information
- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localized loading is not permitted.
- Support engine using transmission and unit jack Junior Jack 2.0 WE 1223 and GA passenger car transmission plate WE 1224 at the oil pan.
- Loosen hexagon-head bolts at the top of the engine bracket.
- 2.1. Only loosen the bolts, as the upper screw flanges of the engine bracket are slotted.
Accessible through maintenance opening in passenger compartment.

- Screw off four collar nuts (M10) -arrows-
on the engine carrier.
- 3.1. Lower the engine a little.
- Unscrew two hexagon-head bolts (M10 x 120) -1- at the bottom of the engine carrier.
- On the new engine carrier, also unscrew an internal Torx screw (M6 x 110).
- 5.1. This bolt is also used to screw on the oil pump.

- Remove entire engine carrier downwards.
- 6.1. If necessary (to make removal easier), unscrew the four studs (M10 x 84) as well.
