Instructions For Disassembling Transmission Cover

Remove retaining sleeve -7- . The retaining sleeve may be destroyed when it is removed as it does not need to be refitted (it is only required during manufacture of the transmission).

Remove outer bearing ring -8- with a suitable internal puller and striker vw 771 .
To remove the rubber plate -11- , turn sheetmetal screw in rubber plate if necessary and remove rubber plate on sheetmetal screw.
Remove needle-roller bearing with plastic sleeve -12- using a suitable internal puller and striker vw 771 . The plastic sleeve must be destroyed in order to position the puller.
Remove bushing -13- with a suitable internal puller and striker vw 771 .
