Installing Drive Belt

Drive belt routing (view on removed engine):
- Drive belt
- Generator pulley
- Power-steering pump pulley (plastic)
- Air-conditioning compressor pulley
- Crankshaft vibration damper
- Coolant pump pulley
- Belt tensioner tensioning roller
- Guide in the drive belt with the flat side between the engine bracket and vibration damper and position it on the grooves.
- Fit the drive belt onto the other pulleys in accordance with the belt threading course.

- Coolant pump pulley
- Tensioning roller
- Hydraulic pump pulley (plastic)
- 2.1. Fit drive belt on the tensioning roller
- Fit drive belt.
- 3.1. Fit a ring wrench (a/f 30) -2- on the hexagon -1- on the tensioner, turn it clockwise as far as it will go and hold it at that position.
- 3.2. Slide the drive belt onto the tensioning roller.
- 3.3. Let the tensioner slide back slowly into tensioning position (anti-clockwise).
- Check that all pulleys and the tensioning roller are installed at the correct position.
- 4.1. To do this, turn the belt tensioner clockwise as far as it will go using the ring wrench -1- and hold it at this position.
- 4.2. Guide the drive belt clockwise over the pulley -2- for the air conditioning compressor with your hand.
