Installing Vibration Damper

- Do not start the engine while the vibration damper and drive belt are removed.
Information
- Replace screws for vibration damper.
- The screw thread and crankshaft flange thread must not be greased.
- Clean the thread on the crankshaft flange to remove grease .
- Fit the vibration damper -1-
on the crankshaft flange. Check the position of the dowel pin.
- 1.1. Use a short locating pin 9595/1 to disconnect the vibration damper.
- Fit six new external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 1 x 25, fine thread) -2- uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
- Fit drive belt.
- Tighten six external Torx screws according to tightening specifications.
- 4.1. Pre-tighten screws uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
→ Initial tightening: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- 4.2. Final tightening using special tool electronic torque wrench, 2-100 Nm/1.5-74 ftlb.) 9768
.
→ Torque angle: 90°+/-5°
- 4.1. Pre-tighten screws uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
- Remove locating pin.
