Installing Flywheel - PDK Transmission

Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Remove protective wax on new parts with acetone or solvent naphtha.
Information
Before re-installing the flywheel, clean the friction surface of the flywheel using a clean, lint-free cloth soaked in acetone or solvent naphtha).
- Position the flywheel on the crankshaft dowel pin and press it onto the crankshaft flange.
- 2.1. Fit ten new (M10 x 29 internal serration) fastening screws and tighten evenly in diagonally opposite sequence.
- Toothed segment 9538/1 -1-
must be inserted in order to counter at the starter ring gear.
- 3.1. Place toothed segment on the sloping cast edge of the cylinder housing.
- Tighten fastening screws evenly in diagonally opposite sequence according to the tightening specifications.
- 4.1. Check that the toothed segment is fitted correctly.
- 4.2. → Initial tightening: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)
- 4.3. → Final tightening - torque angle: 120°
