Installing Starter

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 2012 Porsche Cayman, 2012 Porsche Boxster, 2011 Porsche Cayman, 2011 Porsche Boxster, and 2010 Porsche Cayman. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the starter.
    1. 1.1. Insert the starter and place it in installation position.
    2. 1.2. Tighten fastening screws -3-  using an extra-long extension -2-  . → Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 ftlb.) 
    3. 1.3. Remove adhesive tape -1-  from the seam of the engine compartment cut-out.

  2. Connect electric plug connection on the solenoid switch.
    1. 2.1. Connect terminal 30 line and secure it with the fastening nut -3-  . → Tightening torque: 18 Nm (13 ftlb.) 
    2. 2.2. Connect terminal 50 line and secure it with the fastening nut -2-  . → Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5 ftlb.) 
    3. 2.3. Fit the cover -1- (-arrow-).
