Lowering The Engine

→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.

→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.

→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.

→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.

→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

• When lowering, the engine must not rest on the rear axle cross member  .

1. Remove cover for rear underbody.

   For Working Under The Vehicle: 

2. Support the engine using the Master Gear unit elevating platform WE 1206  and the special tools specified below.
   1. Master Gear Unit Elevating Platform WE 1206 
   2. Support 9769/1  for Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
   3. Support 9769/2  for manual transmission
   4. Retainer Plate 9769  for engine

   Information 

   • It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan  .
   • Localized loading is not permitted  .
3. Support the engine at the oil pan using Transmission Jack VAG 1383 A WE 1082  .
4. Loosen or unscrew fastening nuts -2-  on the engine carrier.

   Information 

   • The engine can be lowered by max. 40 millimeters without loosening the transmission mounts  .
   • The exhaust manifolds must not be touching the diagonal braces  .
5. Carefully lower the engine.
