Subsequent Work

→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.

→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.

→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.

→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.

→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.

1. Fit all coolant hoses and the coolant vent line to the underbody.
2. Fit ground strap on the engine.

   Tightening Torque 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) 

3. Fit plug connections for oxygen sensors to the holders.
4. Fit air-conditioning lines.

   → 874319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SECTION OF COMPRESSOR/CONDENSER LINE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO UNDERBODY CONNECTION POINT

   Use Assembly Tool 9822  to counter.

   WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials

   • Danger of fire or explosion

   → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

   → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

   → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

5. Connect and clip in the fuel lines.
6. Connect vacuum hose and vacuum line for the brake booster.
7. Securely clip brake-disc air guides in place
8. Vehicles With Porsche Double-Clutch Transmission (PDK):  Fit cable plug and parking lock cable.
   1. 8.1. Fit parking lock cable.
   2. 8.2. Fasten bayonet locks by turning them clockwise.
   3. 8.3. Plug in cable plugs for temperature sensor and control valves.

9. Vehicles With Manual Transmission: 
   1. 9.1. Connect cable plug to transmission.
   2. 9.2. Fit shift and selector cables.
      1. Selector cable
      2. Shift cable
      3. Fixing clips on support

10. Fit rear muffler with holder.

    → 263319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SILENCER .

11. Install the transverse strut.
    1. 11.1. Tighten fastening screws.

       Initial Tightening 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) Final Tightening +60°

12. Install rear axle cross member.

    → 420619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-AXLE CROSS MEMBER .

13. Install the anti-roll bar.

    → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR .

14. Install support plate and diagonal braces.

    → 421419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SUPPORT PLATE .

15. Fit strut -3-  together with the coolant hose holder.

    Tightening Torque 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.)

16. Mount rear wheels.

    → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .

17. Fit drive shafts at transmission flange by countering at the respective rear wheel.

    → 422119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE SHAFT .

18. Slide rubber sleeve for air intake onto the throttle body and tighten screw-type clamp.

    Tightening Torque 3 Nm (2 ft. lbs.) 

19. Guide engine wire harness -2-  through the opening in the body and connect in the luggage compartment.

    → 975219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WIRE HARNESS FOR ENGINE .

    1. 19.1. Lightly grease rubber sleeve and fasten in place.
    2. 19.2. Place cover in hood compartment.

20. Connect oil filler pipe and filling hose.
21. Fit luggage compartment trim.

    → 700619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM .

22. Connect vent lines -1-  at the coolant reservoir -2-  .

23. Secure B+ line to the B+ box.

    Tightening Torque 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) 

24. Install rear wall cover.

    → 555919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WALL COVER .

25. Fill the air-conditioning system.

    → 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT .

26. Connect the battery.

    → 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY .

27. Fill in coolant.

    → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT

28. Bleed the cooling system.

    → WM 190107 BLEEDING THE COOLING SYSTEM .

29. Check all fluid levels and seal tightness after the engine test run.
30. Install engine compartment lid.

    → 557819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID .

31. Remove protective covers.
32. Boxster Vehicles:  Close convertible top.
33. Perform suspension alignment.

    → 449503 SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT, COMPLETE .
