Removing Convertible Top Covering

Information 

• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle  .
• Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well  .

Information 

• Only required when re-using the convertible top covering  .

The tension rope can be pulled in during installation using the cord.

The cord remains in the removed convertible top covering.

1. Loosen convertible top covering at the sides.
   1. 1.1. Loosen retaining straps -3 and 4-  .

      1. 1.1.1. Drill out rivets -2-  .
      2. 1.1.2. Remove outer retaining strap -3-  .
      3. 1.1.3. Remove inner retaining strap -4-  .

   2. 1.2. Loosen fold placer cord.
      1. 1.2.1. Drill out rivets -5-  on the fold placer cord.
      2. 1.2.2. Remove fold placer cord -6-  inwards.

2. Detach convertible top covering at the rear.
   1. 2.1. Unscrew fastening screws -3-  on the roof frame.
   2. 2.2. Remove strip -2-  .

   3. 2.3. Pull off retaining strip -2-  on convertible top covering -1-  at the main folding top bow -3-  .

3. Detach convertible top covering at the front.
   1. 3.1. Drill out rivets -2-  on the outside of the convertible top covering -1-  .

   2. 3.2. Loosen retaining strip on convertible top covering -2-  at the front edge. -arrow-

   3. 3.3. Remove convertible top covering. -arrows-

4. Release tension rope.
   1. 4.1. Press tension rope -7-  upwards. -arrow A- 
   2. 4.2. Unhook tension rope -7-  at the roof frame. -arrow B-

   3. 4.3. Pull tension rope -7-  out of the duct on the convertible top. -arrow-

5. Loosen tension straps.
   1. 5.1. Loosen fastening screws -4-  .
   2. 5.2. Remove clips -3-  on the tension straps -2-  .

6. Remove convertible top covering.
