Removing Roofliner
Information
- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle .
- Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well .
- Loosen rear fastening points.
- 1.1. Unscrew screw -2- .
- 1.2. Remove expansion rivets -3- on the tension bow -4- .
- 1.3. Release wire harness.
- 1.3.1. Disengage cable clip -2- .
- 1.3.2. Remove retaining strap -3- on the control arm -4- .
- 1.4. Loosen Velcro connections -1- on the rear window frame -2- . -arrow-
- 1.5. Pull off strip -2- on the roofliner.
- 1.6. Release zip -2- in the corner bow area.
- 1.7. Release zip -2- in the main folding top bow area.
- Loosen fastening points at the side.
- 2.1. Pull the roofliner -3- aside -arrow- and drill out rivet -1- on the inner retaining strap -2- .
- 2.2. Drill out rivet -2- on the control arm -3- .
- 2.3. Drill out rivets -2- on the main control arm -3- .
- 2.4. Unscrew fastening screw -4- .
- Release tension rope.
Information
Do not pull on the rope. This wedges the molded piece.
- 3.1. Lever the molded piece -2- off the control arm -3- using a small screwdriver.
- 3.2. Disengage tension rope -2- at the eye -4- .
- 3.3. Drill out rivet -3-

- 3.3.1. Remove tension rope -2- and eye -4- .
- 3.4. Pull tension rope -2- through the eyes -5 and 6- and remove it.
- Loosen fastening points at the front.
- 4.1. Loosen cover strip.
- 4.1.1. Unscrew fastening screws -3 and 4- .
- 4.1.2. Pull cover strip -2- in the middle downwards. -arrow A-
- 4.1.3. Pull cover strip -2- at the corners inwards out of the rubber. -arrow B-
- 4.1.4. Remove cover strip -2- together with the roofliner.
- 4.2. Pull off piping -3- on the cover strip -2- .
- 4.3. Remove trim -2- .
- 4.4. Release tension rope.
- 4.4.1. Unscrew fastening screw -3- .
- 4.4.2. Remove tension rope with spring -2- .
- 4.1. Loosen cover strip.
- Loosen fastening points in the middle.
- 5.1. Loosen fastening screw at the right -3- .
- 5.2. Pull piping -2- with roofliner -1- to the right and out.
- Remove roofliner.
