Removing Wire Harness For Power Seats

NOTE: Voltage peaks
  • Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

→ Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing load.

Information 

The number of plug connections can vary, depending on equipment.

  1. Press central connector -1-  for electric seat adjustment out of the holder -a-  .

  2. Unscrew the three fastening screws -1-  on the holder -2-  for the seat memory control unit.

  3. Only for seats with suction fan  . Swivel up holder for memory seat adjustment control unit with the suction fan screwed on and attach it to the retainer plate for the seat adjustment motor.
  4. Cut open all relevant tie-wraps -1-  and remove the sections.

  5. Disconnect plug connections.
    1. 5.1. Disconnect electric plug connection on the motor for front vertical adjustment -A-  .
    2. 5.2. Disconnect electric plug connection on the motor for rear vertical adjustment -B-  .
    3. 5.3. Cut tie-wrap at the connector housing. Open the latch on the connector housing -c-  and pull out the connector insert -C-  .
    4. 5.4. Release connector housing mounting -d-  and pull the connector out of the mounting -D-  .
    5. 5.5. Cut open tie-wraps -1-  and remove the plug connection -E-  .
    6. 5.6. Release electric plug connection -f-  and unplug the connector -F-  .
    7. 5.7. Unplug electric plug connection -G-  .
    8. 5.8. Release electric plug connection -h-  and unplug the connector -H- 
    9. 5.9. Unplug electric plug connection -I-  .
    10. 5.10. Pull clamp with wire harness off the tab
    11. 5.11. Disconnect electric plug connection from the motor for seat adjustment -K-  .

  6. Disconnect airbag wire harness
    1. 6.1. Unscrew the two screws -1-  from the outward-facing side of the cushion carrier
    2. 6.2. Cut open tie-wraps -2-  and -4-  and remove the sections.
    3. 6.3. Press the backrest frame -5-  away from the cushion carrier -A-  and pull out the wire harness -3-  (-B-  ).
    4. 6.4. Remove all wire harness fixing elements from the wire harness you have just removed.

  7. Pull the connections and contacts of the disconnected wire harness through as far as the underside of the seat and remove the wire harness.
