Information On Checking Brake Pads

Procedure during intermediate maintenance:
Visually inspect the brake pads for wear. The wheels do not need to be removed for this.
Use a mirror as an aid on the rear axle -arrow- . Without an aid, the inner brake pad is not or is only partly visible on the rear axle (with the wheel fitted).
Procedure during maintenance:
Remove wheels. → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
Check the brake pad thickness for wear. Check the brake pads visually or using a gauge if in doubt.
