Removing main power supply switch

  1. Pull off the B+ plug -1-  for the main switch (battery disconnect switch) from the battery positive terminal.

  2. Unscrew the fastening nut -2-  for the ground point on the body and disconnect the negative terminal -3-  from the battery.

  3. Cover the negative terminal on the battery with a soft, dry cloth.
  4. Screw off the ground strap [>>] negative terminal on battery disconnect switch << and remove the battery disconnect switch from its installation position.

    1. 4.1. Counter at the ground rail on the battery disconnect switch with an open-ended wrench (a/f 21) and screw off the fastening nut -4-  .
    2. 4.2. Remove ground strap on battery disconnect switch.
    3. 4.3. Remove battery disconnect switch

      Information 

      The electric line for the negative terminal must be screwed to the bulkhead using the painted  fastening nut.

  5. Fit the ground strap for the negative terminal of the battery at the bulkhead first and screw it on securely. → Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ftlb.)

  6. Fit ground strap for the negative terminal on the battery and screw it on securely -3-  . → Tightening torque: 4.7 Nm (3.5 ftlb.) 
  7. Place and fit the battery cover included with the vehicle.
