Installing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing (Wheel Carrier)

Information 

• When replacing the brake discs and/or brake shoes, it is necessary to grind down the brake shoes for the electronic parking brake (EPB). The routine is started using PIWIS Tester II.  → 468350 GRINDING DOWN PARKING-BRAKE SHOES .
• Grinding applies only to vehicles with grey cast-iron brakes. PCCB brake discs/brake shoes do not need to be grinded down  .

1. Insert spring strut in wheel carrier.

   Install this assembly in the vehicle.

   → INSTALLING REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSING (WHEEL CARRIER) 

   If the wheel bearing or the wheel bearing housing have been changed: 

   • Place the brake cover plate on the wheel bearing housing, screw in and tighten fastening screws.

     Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

   • Install parking brake spreader device (actuator).

     → INSTALLING SPREADER DEVICE .

   • Install parking brake shoes.

     → INSTALLING PARKING-BRAKE SHOES .
