Preliminary Work

Move selector lever in the vehicle to park position "P".
Remove cover for rear underbody.
→ 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY .
Remove diagonal brace at the left in direction of travel.
→ WM 420619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-AXLE CROSS MEMBER .
Disengage parking lock cable.
→ 371319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOCKING CABLE .
Detach coolant hoses on the transmission.
Remove lever -1- for parking lock shaft.
1. 6.1. Screw off lock nut -2- .
2. 6.2. Pull lever off the parking lock shaft.
3. 6.3. Replace lock nut.
