Removing Brake Cables

  1. Remove center console insert.

    1. 1.1. Open the lid on the oddments tray.
    2. 1.2. Remove center console insert at the rear -1-  (-arrow-  ).
  2. Remove center console floor at the rear.

    1. 2.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  and remove center console floor at the rear -2-  .
  3. Disengage brake cables at the handbrake lever.

    Turn the lever -3-  and disengage brake cables -1-  .

  4. Disengage brake cables at the expanding-lock.
    1. 4.1. Pull brake cables -1-  out slightly.
    2. 4.2. Prise circlip -6-  off the bolt -7-  and remove it.
    3. 4.3. Pull out the bolt -7-  and remove expanding-lock -8-  .

  5. Remove brake cables.
    1. 5.1. Pull brake cables -1-  out of the guide tubes -5-  at the wheel bearing housing -arrow-  .
    2. 5.2. Pull brake cables -1-  out of the guide tubes at the underbody.
    3. 5.3. Clean the guide tubes -5-  at the wheel bearing housing.
