Preliminary Work

  1. Raise the vehicle.

    → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .

  2. Remove the relevant rear wheel.

    → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .

    → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL WITH CENTRAL BOLT .

  3. Release the parking brake.
  4. Remove cover for rear underbody.

    → 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY

  5. Remove diagonal brace (left or right). Multiple-tooth screw in the middle -inset-  .

  6. On vehicles with PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control), remove the anti-roll bar.

    → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR 

    On vehicles without PDCC, remove the connecting link (suspension/stabilizer) on the anti-roll bar. Turn the anti-roll bar as far as required until there is sufficient space for removing the drive shaft.
