Subsequent Work

  1. Install wheel bearing housing with drive shaft fitted.

    In other words: Contrary to the description  → Installing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing  , secure the drive shaft at the transmission (rather than fitting it on the wheel bearing housing). 

  2. Install rear-axle cross member.

    → Installing Rear-Axle Cross Member  .

  3. Install cover for rear underbody.

    → 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY .

    On the Cabriolet, also install the support plate.

    → 421419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SUPPORT PLATE .

  4. Fit wheel.

    → Installing Wheel .

  5. Check wheel alignment values. Make adjustments if necessary.

    → 449503 SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT, COMPLETE .
