Installing Air-Conditioning Compressor

WARNING: Refrigerant
  • Danger of freezing

→ Avoid contact with refrigerant.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and dealing with refrigerant.

→ Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.

→ Observe the instructions for repairing air conditioning systems and storing spare parts.

  1. Install air-conditioning compressor -1-  .
    1. 1.1. Position air-conditioning compressor -1-  with screw -4-  in the engine compartment.
    2. 1.2. Tighten fastening screw (M8 x 170) -4-  . Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.) 
    3. 1.3. Position holder -3-  with fastening screws (M8 x 90) -2-  and tighten screws. Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.)

  2. Close the air-conditioning lines -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Remove stoppers.
    2. 2.2. Replace O-rings and coat the new rings with refrigerant oil.
    3. 2.3. Tighten M8 fastening screws -2- Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 ft.lbs.)  on the high-pressure and low-pressure lines and counter with assembly tool 9822  while doing this.
    4. 2.4.

  3. Connect electric plug connection for air-conditioning compressor.

  1. Install air-conditioning compressor -1-  .
    1. 1.1. Position air-conditioning compressor -1-  with screw -4-  and holder in the engine compartment.
    2. 1.2. Tighten fastening screw -4-  . Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.) 
    3. 1.3. Tighten fastening nut -4-  securing holder to throttle housing. Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ft.lbs.)

    4. 1.4. Position holder -3-  with fastening screws (M8 x 90) -2-  and tighten screws. Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ft.lbs.)

  2. Connect high-pressure and low-pressure lines -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Remove stoppers.
    2. 2.2. Replace O-rings and coat new rings with refrigerant oil.
    3. 2.3. Tighten fastening screws -2-  on the high-pressure and low-pressure lines -1-  and counter with assembly tool 9822  while doing this. Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 ft.lbs.)

  3. Connect electric plug connection for air-conditioning compressor.
