Installing Shift Cover

- Fit a new seal -1- .
- Fit shift cover with new screws.
Information
- Aluminum screws must always be replaced.
- Aluminum screws are secured using the yield-point-controlled method.
- Use special tool electronic torque wrench 9768 for this.
- To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the specified tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must be used.
- Tighten screws for shift cover according to the specified tightening sequence -1 to 6-
.
- 3.1. Initial tightening of aluminum screws at "medium" setting:
→ Initial tightening: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
- 3.2. Final tightening using the yield-point-controlled tightening method with special tool electronic torque wrench 9768.
- 3.1. Initial tightening of aluminum screws at "medium" setting:
- Fit neutral gear sensor with new screws.
→ Tightening torque: 5.5 Nm (4 ftlb.)
