Test point 18: Elimination

- Replace support with gear unit.
- Actuate switch for memory seat adjustment.
The text in the fault memory changes from present to not present if the cause of the fault has really been eliminated.
- If the fault is no longer present, erase the fault memory.
- If the fault is still present,
there is a fault in the wire.
For a fault in the wire, proceed as described below:
- Disconnect mirror plug from the control module.
- Disconnect plug at support with gear unit.
- Use an ohmmeter to check for open circuit on the support plug Pin 5 and the mirror plug on the control module Pin 11. Ohmmeter display <5ohm
- Use an ohmmeter to check for open circuit on the support plug Pin 7 and the mirror plug on the control module Pin 4. Ohmmeter display <5ohm
- Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity on the support plug Pin 3 and Pin 5.
- If no fault is detected in the wire, replace the control module.
