Installing ATF Cooler

Hot fluid

→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
Information
Aluminum screws must always be replaced. They must never be re-used.
Information
- The aluminum screws for the differential housing cover must be replaced.
- The aluminum screws for the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) must be tightened using the yield-point-controlled tightening method.
- Special tool electronic torque wrench 9768 is used for this.
- To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the corresponding tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must always be used.
- Replace O-rings on the ATF lines.
- Install ATF cooler.
Fit ATF cooler -1- and screw in and tighten screws -2- .
Tighten M6 screws at "medium" setting.
→ Tightening torque: 2.4 Nm (2 ftlb.)
- Connect ATF lines.
- Fit ATF lines -3-
on the ATF cooler -1-
and press into position. Screw in and tighten screws -4-
.
Tighten M6 screws at "medium" setting.
→ Tightening torque: 2.4 Nm (2 ftlb.)
- Tighten screw -2-
for clamping holder on Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
Tighten M8 screws at "medium" setting.
→ Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
- Fit ATF lines -3-
on the ATF cooler -1-
and press into position. Screw in and tighten screws -4-
.
- Connect coolant hoses at the ATF cooler.
- Press clamps together, slide on coolant hoses -2- on the ATF cooler and secure with clamps.
- Remove hose clamps -3- .
