Removing Cover Strip ("RS 3.8")

Information
- The adhesive tape protects the paintwork on the side member from damage when removing the cover strip.
- Mask the side member -2- all the way around with adhesive tape -1- .
- Heat the cover strip -1- in the side member area -2- with the hot-air blower -3- (-arrows- ).
- Pry the cover strip -1- off the side member evenly all the way around using an assembly wedge -4- .
- Remove adhesive residue.
- 4.1. Pull adhesive tape -1- off the side member.
- 4.2. Remove adhesive residue -A- in the installation area using an erasing disc.
- 4.3. Scrape off adhesive residue -B- on the cover strip -2- using a metal scraper.
- 4.4. Clean bonding surfaces with isopropanol.
