Reading From And Writing To The PCM Display And Operator Control Unit

Information 

  1. PIWIS Tester II 9818  must be connected to the vehicle and ignition switched on.
  2. Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
  3. Select the menu PCM MMI  , Maintenance/repairs  .
  4. Select Control unit replacement  in the PCM MMI  menu and press [F12] to confirm your selection.
  5. Select the Read data  menu and press [F8] to start.
  6. The message Data was read out  appears on the PIWIS Tester screen. Press [F12] to continue.
  7. Switch off ignition and replace PCM. → WM 911019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PCM DISPLAY AND CONTROL UNIT  
  8. Switch on ignition and press [F11] to return to the vehicle type  screen. Select Additional menu  in the control units  overview and start vehicle handover  by pressing [F8].
  9. Read out and erase all fault memories.
  10. Press [F12] to switch from the vehicle type  to the list of control units  .
  11. Select PCM MMI  with the cursor keys and press [F12] to continue.
  12. Select Control unit replacement  in the PCM MMI  menu with the cursor keys and press [F12] to confirm your selection.
  13. When you select the Write data  menu, the data that was read out (see Step →  5.) will be loaded. Press [F12] to continue.
  14. The PIWIS Tester displays the message Data has been written  . Press [F12] to continue.
  15. Select the menu PCM MMI  , Maintenance/repairs  .
  16. Select the Required & Actual configuration  menu and confirm your selection by pressing [F12].
  17. Compare the Actual/Required listing. Press [F8] to start the Mapping  . All installed audio components will now be listed with a plus under Actual/Required.
  18. Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
  19. PCM is now taught.
