Subsequent Work - Cylinder Bank 4-6

Information 

For all lubrication points, use Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).

  1. Install two camshaft-housing covers -1 and 3-  with new O-rings.
    1. 1.1. Grease O-rings.
    2. 1.2. Top cover: Three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) -2-  and one cable holder for oxygen sensors.

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    3. 1.3. Bottom cover: Fit one external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 20) -2-  .

  2. Install oil return pipe -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Grease O-rings -arrows-  .
    2. 2.2. Fit oil return pipe on the suction pump and on the cylinder head.
    3. 2.3. Secure oil return pipe to the camshaft-housing cover with two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 30). Also tighten the third screw.

      Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

  3. Fit two new covers (do not grease).
    1. 3.1. Carefully tap covers onto the camshaft housing using a plastic hammer.
  4. Install oil tank.

    → 175219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL TANK .

  5. Install bar ignition modules and fit cable plugs.
    1. 5.1. Fit bar ignition modules -1-  and secure with internal Torx screws (T30, M6 x 16) -3-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    2. 5.2. Plug in cable plugs for bar ignition modules -2-  and hall sender and secure ground cable with an external Torx screw (M6 x 12).

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

  6. Install oil return line -1-  .
    1. 6.1. Tighten union nuts.

      → Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ft. lb.) 

    2. 6.2. Secure oil line to the camshaft-housing cover with a rubber-coated clamp -2-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    3. 6.3. Connect cable plug to the oil-level sender.

  7. Fit heat shield -1-  .
    1. 7.1. Tighten two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -2-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

  8. Install holder for front silencer.
    1. 8.1. Bottom: Fit two external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 20).
    2. 8.2. Top: Fit one hexagon-head bolt (a/f 13, M8 x 16).
    3. 8.3. Tighten three M8 screws.

      → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) 

  9. Install engine carrier with holder for rear silencer.

    → 103019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE CARRIER - GT3 .

  10. Install front and rear silencers.

    → 262519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SILENCER - GT3 .

    → 263319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SILENCER - GT3 .

  11. Remove the engine from the assembly support with an engine lift.
  12. Remove engine support.
  13. Mount transmission.

    → 343527 REMOVING AND MOUNTING TRANSMISSION .

  14. Install engine.

    → 100119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE .

  15. Fill in engine oil.

    → 170155 CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER .
