Subsequent Work - Cylinder Bank 1-3

Information 

  1. Connect cable plug -1-  for pulse sender, secure it in the cable holder -2-  and clip it in -position-  .

  2. Fit camshaft-housing cover at the top -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Secure the cover with three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20).

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

  3. Fit vacuum pump.
    1. 3.1. Fit two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 25).
    2. 3.2. Connect oil return pipe -arrow-  .
    3. 3.3. Fit two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 30) and tighten all four screws.

      → Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ft. lb.)

  4. Fit vacuum line for vacuum pump.
    1. 4.1. Connect vacuum line and vacuum hose -1-  to the pump.
    2. 4.2. Screw in and tighten two external Torx screws (M6 x 16 -2-  at the top and M6 x 10 -3-  at the bottom).

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

    3. 4.3. Secure vacuum line -1-  to the engine/transmission flange with an external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12) -2-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

    Information 

    • Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93). 
  5. Fit cover with thermostat on the coolant regulator housing.

    Tool recommendation: 3/8-inch socket-wrench insert (long), hexagon socket a/f 5 with ball joint 

    1. 5.1. Coat hose connections with Kluberplus Gel.
    2. 5.2. Fit cover -1-  with new O-rings and thermostat on the housing.

    3. 5.3. Fit coolant hoses.
    4. 5.4. Fit and tighten three cheese head bolts (hexagon socket a/f 5, M6 x 35) -2-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    5. 5.5. Tighten screw-type clamps -2-  on the coolant hoses -1-  .

      → Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ft. lb.)

  6. Install bar ignition modules and fit cable plugs.
    1. 6.1. Fit bar ignition modules and secure with internal Torx screws (T30, M6 x 16) -3-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    2. 6.2. Plug in cable plugs for bar ignition modules -2-  and hall sender -1-  and secure ground cable with an external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12).

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

    3. 6.3. Secure vacuum line with an external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12) -4-  .

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

  7. Complete Steps 7 to 15 as for cylinder bank 4-6.
