Preliminary Work - Cylinder Bank 4-6

CAUTION:
Ingress of dirt
- Danger of material damage due to blocked oil bores/oil ducts.
→ Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the engine.
→ Lay removed engine parts on a clean base and make sure to cover them.
→ Use the cover for dust protection when fitting the engine NR.165 on the engine assembly support.
Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
- Complete Steps 1 to 9 as for cylinder bank 1-3.
- Remove oil return line -1-

- 2.1. Loosen the clamp -2- and screw off hexagon nut (a/f 36) -arrow- on the connection for the oil suction pump by countering at the hexagon connection piece (a/f 32).
- 2.2. Pull off cable plug on the oil-level sender.
- 2.3. Disconnect line at the oil tank.
- Remove oil tank.
- Disconnect cable plugs for bar ignition modules and hall sender and remove bar ignition modules -1-

- 4.1. Pull off cable plugs for hall sender and bar ignition modules -2- .
- 4.2. Unscrew internal Torx screws (T30, M6 x 16) -3- on the bar ignition modules.
- 4.3. Pull off bar ignition modules.
- 4.4. Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 12) on the ground cable.
- Remove covers -1 and 3-
on the camshaft housing.
- 5.1. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 20) -2- on the top cover and remove cover.
- 5.2. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E10) - one M6 x 20 -2- and two M6 x 30 -4- - on the bottom cover (oil return connection).
- Pull off oil pipe -1-
for the oil suction pump.
- 6.1. Pull off bottom cover.
- 6.2. Replace O-rings -arrows- .
- Replace O-rings on both covers.
