Installing Camshaft-Housing Cover

CAUTION:
Ingress of dirt
- Danger of material damage due to blocked oil bores/oil ducts.
→ Absolute cleanliness is essential when working on the engine.
→ Lay removed engine parts on a clean base and make sure to cover them.
→ Use the cover for dust protection when fitting the engine NR.165 on the engine assembly support.
Information
For all lubrication points, use Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
- Remove grease from the sealing faces and allow to dry off well.

Only use Drei Bond, type 2210 sealant.
- Carefully apply a uniform bead of sealant -1-
about 1 mm wide to the camshaft-housing cover.
- 2.1. The picture in the graphic also applies as a mirror image for the other cover.
- Install camshaft-housing cover.
- 3.1. Fit the cover and tighten 17 M6 external Torx screws uniformly (see position shown in Fig 2).
- 3.2. Side 1-3: Fit cable holder for pulse sender.
- 3.3. Side 4-6: Fit two oil tank holders.
- 3.4. Tighten all screws evenly and crosswise from the inside out. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 14 external Torx screws, M6 x 35
- Two external Torx screws, M6 x 20
- One external Torx screw, M6 x 75

- Fit flat connectors.
- 4.1. Apply a light coating of the prescribed assembly grease on the rubber-coated surface.
