Removing Hydraulic Pump - Manual Transmission

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove hydraulic pump (hydraulic pump/supply tank assembly).

Place an absorbent, lint-free cloth under the lines that are disconnected to soak up emerging Pentosin.

    1. 1.1. Disconnect the pressure line -1-  at the hydraulic pump. Counter at the connection piece (a/f 27 mm) when detaching the pressure line -1-  (a/f 16 mm).

      Unscrew two M8 Torx screws -2-  .

    2. 1.2. Disconnect the pressure line -1-  at the pressure control valve -2-  . Use the loosening tool 9780/1  (size DN 6) to release the plug connection and pull out the released line -1-  .
      1. Pressure line (reduced pressure) to clutch slave cylinder
      2. Pressure control valve
      3. Return line for steering
      4. Return line for clutch booster circuit

To release the plug connection, press in special tool 9780/1 at the correct position (from above and with the blue handle pointing in direction of travel).

In other words,  the 60° chamfer on the loosening tool 9780/1 must be facing the 60° chamfer on the connector (line -1-  ). Never lever the plug connection with the loosening tool 9780/1.

    3. 1.3. Disconnect the return lines -3 and 4-  at the tandem hydraulic pump (from the generator side) - with the generator removed. Disconnect means: Release (press the black circlip forward/towards the tandem pump) and pull the line out at the same time. Disconnect line -3-  and then line -4-  .

Release the return lines -3 and 4-  using disassembly tool, universal NR.21.

If you do not have a disassembly tool to hand, press the relevant circlip forward using two plastic spatulas or an appropriate open-ended wrench (for line 3 and 4 with different wrench sizes) and pull the return lines -3 and 4-  out at the same time.

To remove the return line -3-  at the tandem pump, disengage this line at the holder on the right side of the engine if necessary.

    4. 1.4. Close off return bores on the hydraulic pump using suitable stoppers.
    5. 1.5. Unscrew one M6 Torx screw on the back, rear fastening point -3-  .
