Contact Unit In Centre Position

- To position the airbag contact unit in center position, press the locking element -D-
and turn the rotor -A-
carefully as far as it will go to the left.
Then turn the rotor -A- carefully (from the left stop) to the right, approx. 3.5 to 3.75 turns, until the band printed on one side is visible in the window.
Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position before fitting the steering wheel (steering shaft mounted on steering gear).
- 3. Fit the tie-rod end on the steering arm.
On the 911 Turbo, fit the spoiler at the diagonal arm (air guide for the brake cooling system).
- 4. Repeat the procedure on the other side.
- 5. Fit the feed and return lines at the steering gear -arrow- .
- 6. Secure the final drive to the front-axle cross member. To do this:
Screw studs -C- (on both sides) through the transmission support -A- and into the front-axle cross member.
Screw fastening nuts -B- onto the studs -C- and tighten them.
