Information on brake noise (squealing) and remedial action
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Always observe the following points before carrying out remedial action in the event of complaints:
- Carry out repairs if concrete customer complaints are received.
- Normally, no action is required if brake noise (squealing) is heard sporadically.
- General recommendation in the event of a complaint: Install new brake pads (current spare parts).
- Install new brake-piston damping plates (mass balancers or claw plates) e).
- Only in rare cases can brake noise be eliminated by replacing other brake components (e.g. replacing brake callipers). Such costly measures should only be carried out following consultation with the importer (in warranty cases) or the customer .
