Information on steering and clutch lines

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The plug-in lines (plug-in couplings) for the steering and clutch hydraulics -arrows- have been changed on the GT2 RS compared with the 911 Carrera as of model year 2009 (Turbo, GT3, GT3 RS as of model year 2010).

On the 911 Carrera - as of model year 2009 (Turbo, GT3, GT3 RS - as of model year 2010), the lines are pulled apart after releasing the plug-in coupling(s). Release tool 9780 is used to release the plug-in couplings.

On the GT2 RS, the plug-in couplings -arrows- are disconnected by screwing them apart.

Plug-in couplings on the GT2 RS as of model year 2011  Plug-in coupling is disconnected by screwing it apart. (Remove circlip -D-  /turn at the threaded joint -A-  and counter at the hexagon on the plug-in coupling -B-  at the same time).

Lines are joined by plugging them together.

The plug-in coupling must first be screwed together (with the retaining collar).

New plug-in couplings are already screwed together.

Plug-in couplings on the Carrera as of model year 2009 (Turbo, GT3, GT3 RS as of model year 2010)

Plug-in coupling is disconnected by releasing it and then pulling the lines apart.

Special tool 9780 is required for releasing plug-in couplings!

Lines are joined by plugging them together.

The plug-in coupling on the steering lines (pressure and return line) is the same.

But the line diameter is different (as before).

Do not confuse the lines when joining them (plugging together) if possible.
