Cylinder head nut M10 Initial tightening 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.) X X Observe tightening sequence -item 1 - 12- 
Coat sealing surface and threaded bolt lightly with engine oil.
M10 Loosen nuts  
M10 Joining torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)
M10 Subsequent tightening 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)
M10 Final tightening torque angle 120° ± 2°
Guide/tensioning rail to crankcase bolt a/f 8 (1)) M16 x 1.5 Torque 31 Nm (23 ft. lb.) X X Replace sealing ring.
Guide/tensioning rail to chain housing M16 x 1.5 Torque 31 Nm (23 ft. lb.) X X
Oil guide to camshaft housing M5 - 8.8 Torque 7 X X Use magnetic wrench insert.
Camshaft controller to intake camshaft M12 x 1.5 x 130 (10.9) Initial tightening 50 Nm (37 ft. lb.) X X Replace screw and friction plate
Lightly oil the sealing surface
Torque angle 110° ± 5°
Camshaft controller to outlet camshaft M12 x 1.5 x 130 (12.9) Initial tightening 50 Nm (37 ft. lb.) X X Replace screw and friction plate
Lightly oil the sealing surface
Torque angle 140° ± 5°
Vacuum pump driver to outlet camshaft for cyl. 1-3 M6 x 55 (12.9) Initial tightening 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) X X Replace screw
Lightly oil the sealing surface
Centre driver using special tool
Torque angle 120°
Camshaft bearing cover M6 x 30 - 10.9 Torque 13 Nm (9.5 ft. lb.) X X  
Guide rails M6 x 25 - 10.9 Torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) X X  
Camshaft housing to cylinder head M8 - 10.9 Initial tightening 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) X X Observe tightening sequence -item 1-18- 
Lightly oil thread and bearing surface
Final tightening 28 Nm (21 ft. lb.)
Camshaft housing cover M6 - 10.9 Torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) X X Tighten evenly from the inside out.
Drei Bond 2210 sealant
Solenoid hydraulic valve for intake camshaft control M6 - 8.8 Torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) X X Replace O-ring
Solenoid hydraulic valve for outlet camshaft control M5 - 8.8 Torque 6 Nm (4.5 ft. lb.) X X Replace O-ring
Vacuum pump flange to cylinder head M6 - 10.9 Torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) X X
