Information
- If the output shaft and crown wheel have to be adjusted, it is best to follow the sequence below in the interest of rational working:
Overview of adjustment operations:
- S1 - Shim thickness for left taper roller bearing
- S2 - Shim thickness for right taper roller bearing
- S3 - Shim thickness for cylindrical-roller bearing on output shaft
- S4 - Shim thickness for four-point bearing (large)
- S5 - Shim thickness for four-point bearing (small)
- Measure differential (total shim thickness -S1- and -S2- ).
- Measure and adjust output shaft (shim thickness -S4- and -S5- ).
- Measure and adjust output shaft (shim thickness -S3- ).
- Adjust differential (total shim thickness -S1- and -S2- ).
- Check bevel gear/crown wheel pairing (tooth backlash).
