Removing Cardan Shaft

Information
- Observe maximum joint angle of 20° during removal and fitting.
- The cardan joint must not be loaded at maximum deflection (lock).
- Remove transmission bracket.
- 1.1. Support transmission -1-
with a transmission jack -2-
.
Make sure to use the entire surface of the ATF pan as the contact surface so as to avoid damaging the ATF pan.
- 1.2. Remove transmission bracket.
Loosen and unscrew screws -arrows- and remove transmission bracket.
- 1.3. Secure transmission to the gear support with the transmission mount screws -arrows- .
- 1.4. Remove transmission jack.

- Remove the cardan shaft.
- 2.1. Remove cardan shaft from transmission by unscrewing the screws -arrows- . Move gear selector to "P" or apply the handbrake to prevent the transmission from turning.
- 2.2. Press cardan shaft -1- off using a mounting lever -2- if necessary to remove it from the cardan flange -3- .
- 2.3. Pull cardan shaft out of the splines of the central shaft and remove it.
- 2.4. Pull bellows -arrow- off the central shaft.
