Removing the car radio

NOTE:
- When the car radio is replaced by a new or different car radio, read out the data using the Porsche System Tester before removing it. See TEACHING THE CAR RADIO .
- The car radio has an optical waveguide. For information on optical waveguides: Refer to OPTICAL FIBER (LWL) - MOST BUS .
- Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.
- Plug in the removal tool into the opening provided on the radio until it is felt to engage.
- Carefully pull the radio out of the installation slot with the removal tool.
- Carefully move the radio to the front, place on the centre console. It is recommended to place a cloth between the centre console and the radio.
- Release the plug connections by pressing the locking plugs -a-
and pull out from the radio -arrow-
NOTE:
- Depending on the | No. (CD changer, Bose, amplifier) the number of plug connections varies.
- The version without additional audio components (external Most control units) has a jumper (output goes to input) plugged in for optical waveguide connectors.
- Press in the locking hooks (colored) on the radio -arrow- and simultaneously pull out the removal tool.
