Installing Steel Pulley

NOTE: Incorrect handling of tools
  • Risk of damage to the body

→ Only use tools approved by Porsche.

→ Always ensure that the tool is seated correctly.

→ Protect the body and interior of the vehicle from damage with protective covers.

→ Cover delicate components with cardboard or sheetmetal panels.

  1. Install steel crankshaft pulley.
    1. 1.1. Use a new bolt and a new friction plate.
    2. 1.2. Fit pulley -1-  with friction plate onto the crankshaft flange. Check installation position of the dowel pin.
    3. 1.3. Fit and tighten a new M14 hexagon-head bolt.
    4. 1.4. Holding wrench 9548  must be positioned on the pulley for countering purposes.
    5. 1.5. Tighten hexagon-head bolt.

      Get another person to help you do this because of the high tightening torque required. 

      → Tightening torque: 170 Nm (126 ftlb.) 

      → Tightening torque: 250 Nm (185 ftlb.)
