Removing Aluminum Pulley

NOTE:
Incorrect tool
- Risk of damage to components
→ Use prescribed tool.
- Retaining device 9732/1
must be converted.
- 1.1. To do this, press out the two retaining pins.
- 1.2. Insert two M10 x 60 screws -2- and tighten hand-tight with two M10 nuts -3- .
- Loosen and unscrew the two bottom M10 fastening screws on the engine carrier.NOTE: Components stored or set down incorrectly
- Risk of damage to component surfaces
→ Set the component down on a clean surface, workbench or assembly fixture.
- Remove aluminum pulley for crankshaft.
Get another person to help you do this because of the high loosening forces required.
- 3.1. Join the converted retaining device 9732/1 -1- to the extension for special tool holding wrench 9732 -2- .
- 3.2. Position the counter-hold tool using the screws on the pulley -arrows- , turning the pulley (clockwise) if necessary.
- 3.3. Loosen and unscrew M14 x 1.5 hexagon-head bolt -1- . Counter with retaining device 9732/1 -2- .
- 3.4. Loosen pulley from the crankshaft flange and remove it.
- 3.5. Replace bolt and friction plate.
- Check crankshaft flange, dowel pin and fitting bore for damage.
- 4.1. Clean and remove all grease from the crankshaft flange.
- 4.2. Replace the dowel pin if necessary.
